I just reread Madeline Hunter’s marvelous By Possession. (It, like all her Medievals, is no longer available as an ebook, something I hope changes.) I loved the immersion in a time so very different than our own. I’d like to read more set in that era.
What is your favorite Medieval romance? Why? And what are some hidden gems–superb stories set in Medieval times that most may not have heard of?

the ask@AAR: How are Taylor Swift and Romance Alike?
warning: today’s ask is more of a rant than a question Taylor Swift’s first album came out when my daughter was ten. We both loved it–I still get a catch in my heart when I listen to Tim McGraw and Mary’s Song–and played it again and again on the way to school much to the…
the ask@AAR: What’s your favorite Meredith Duran book?
One of my all time favorite romances is Meredith Duran’s The Duke of Shadows. I read it, for the first time, a few years after it was published in 2008. The story, that of a half Indian/half Anglo Duke and the English artist he falls in love with, riveted me. The book begins in Delhi…
the ask@AAR: Read any glorious books lately?
I have been on a truly splendiferous reading run lately. In the past three months, I have read eight books I’ve given flat out As to–or five stars on Goodreads–and three more that are 4 star/B+s. I can’t remember the last time so many books have so delighted me. A few on my list haven’t…

As we started watching it, my brother said, offhandedly to his…
the ask@AAR: What’s the best party you’ve ever been to?
As Covid, more or less, recedes in its every day impact, people are socializing. All over the place. This makes me happy–as an utter extrovert I love get togethers. I’ve so missed gatherings and parties. I was recently at a soiree in my building and we started talking about great parties we’d attended. I confess,…
