For almost twenty years, I ran All About Romance, one of romance’s essential institutions, a place where the genre was taken seriously without anyone having to pretend we loved the latest unreadable Booker Prize winner. I now write The Passionate Reader, where books are still central, but include culture, politics, family, sex, love, and whatever else has annoyed me before lunch. My opinions are just that: mine.
