Y’all have picked Fool Me Twice by a large swath of votes!
It’s by the storied Meredith Duran–we’re SO blue she’s currently not writing–and Blythe gave it a fairly happy B+.
We’ll discuss it on Monday, August 23rd.
Happy reading!

Dr. Feelgood and I have been watching Fargo–the TV show, not the iconic film–and, midway into season three, I think we’re done. The first two seasons were wildly violent but at least–more or less–the show made sense. The premises of season three are absurdly unbelievable AND Noah Hawley, the showrunner, keeps giving into flights of…
You’ve heard the headlines on your favorite morning news show: Divorced Couple Finds Love Again After Thirty Years. The perky anchorwoman then spouts the exciting details of a couple who married hastily as he was shipped off to war, only to get divorced when he returned. Thirty years later, when they bump into each other…
Adam and Dina, the hero and heroine of Learning to Love, were not my typical characters, and presented challenges when I was writing them. Don’t get me wrong, I loved developing them, but they weren’t “easy” romance characters. Adam Mandel appeared briefly in the two previous books of this series*–as a previous, brief love interest…
When Good Earls Go Bad: A Victorian Valentine’s Day Novella by Megan Frampton is a quick read and one I’d recommend to anyone who likes frothy, fun historical romance. Ms. Frampton is a reliably strong writer and in this novella she strives for and achieves an archly humorous tone. Each chapter starts with a maxim from…
Goodreads tells me I’ve read eleven books thus far this year. They are: The Woman on the Ledge by Ruth Mancini Never Blow a Kiss by Lindsay Lovise Devil’s Kitchen by Candice Fox The Duchess Takes a Lover by Jillian Eaton The Queen of Dust by H. E. Dare The God of the Woods by…
Today we’re discussing Fool Me Twice by Meredith Duran. In her B+ review, Blythe said: Fool Me Twice is easily my favorite Duran book of the last few years. After having loved a few of hers in the past, I struggled with the last three as they had themes that didn’t really resonate with me….
It was a clear DIK for me when I read it 🙂
I just finished this AGAIN yesterday, and it is so good. I’m hopeful about future work, but glad we have thirteen titles to enjoy more than once.
Is it official that MD is no longer writing?!!? Like, I know she hasn’t written in a while but… I still hold out hope! Her books are just so dang good.
Note the new date for this!
I have to go re-read this, I read it quite some time ago but unlike many of her other books the details have not stuck with me.
I am rereading it now. Her writing is so deft.
