My rule for reading a book is, if after 100 pages more or less, I’m bored/irked/appalled, I quit. This, however, is just me. (For TV shows, it’s watch at least three episodes.) My best friend believes if she starts a book, she has to stick with it to the end. And while I support her…
Whatever else has changed in romance, one thing is clear. Books are more explicit than they used to be. Over the years, AAR has given a Burning designation to 361 books. Of those, 15 got Fs, 65 got Ds, 99 got Cs, 151 got Bs, and 31 got As or DIKs.
Alex Stanton just inherited a dukedom but his true passion is uncovering charlatans and frauds wherever he finds them. Spiritualist and medium Evangeline “Evie” Jones is the biggest fake of all and he’s determined to expose her lies for all of London to see. Her prim manner and ladylike airs don’t fool him. He sees…
Dr. Feelgood and I have been watching Fargo–the TV show, not the iconic film–and, midway into season three, I think we’re done. The first two seasons were wildly violent but at least–more or less–the show made sense. The premises of season three are absurdly unbelievable AND Noah Hawley, the showrunner, keeps giving into flights of…
AAR was saddened to hear of the recent passing of Emma Holly, who was a trailblazer of erotic romance. For writers and readers alike, her books expanded the definition of what was possible and permissible to publish. Many people remember her books as their first encounters with menages, and her heroes were among the first…
2024…. this was a year of reading to escape. I did a lot of rereading–it helps to put me to sleep at night–but still managed to read almost 70 books I’d not explored before. However, as usual, many of those books aren’t going to be out until 2025. Thank the gods for Goodreads! After sorting…
Wow! I voted for the winner but never expected it would be the one. Look forward to reading it and the discussion next month.
For any audio listeners out there, I think this one is even better (and I would give it an A in book form) in audio! So good.
With Nicholas Boulton as narrator,I can only imagine!
I am excited about this one although all three are books I’ve enjoyed.
I actually own this and have never read it yet so I’m excited. I really would have been happy with most of the choices offered. I haven’t read a good Medieval story in quite a while so I have high hopes for this one! Looking forward to the discussion!
I love a good Medieval!
I’m looking forward to reading, well listening, to this again and participating in the discussion.
I lost track of time for this! Let’s discuss it on December 9th!
Works for me.
I had all three of the series in the cloud and thanks to the coming discussion I reread all three and enjoyed them more the second time around!see you on December 9th.
